Blades Fall in Moose Jaw, Series Tied 3-3

The Saskatoon Blades lost Game 6 of their Western Hockey League (WHL) Eastern Conference Final series against the Moose Jaw Warriors in overtime on Friday night, dropping the series to 3-3.

Saskatoon native Josh Brook scored the game-winning goal for the Warriors at 1:57 of the extra period, giving Moose Jaw the victory and forcing a Game 7 in Saskatoon on Sunday.

The Blades had a chance to win the game in regulation when they were awarded a power play with just over four minutes remaining in the third period. Saskatoon, however, was unable to capitalize on the opportunity, and the game went to overtime.

In overtime, the Warriors controlled the play and eventually won the game when Brook scored on a rebound off a shot by Brett Howden.

The Blades will now return home for Game 7 on Sunday with the series tied 3-3. The winner of Game 7 will advance to the WHL Final, where they will face the Swift Current Broncos.
